Isn’t this the cutest thing ever?  Imagine waking up to this delightful cup ‘o jo.  We leave you with this happy image before heading into the weekend.  We hope you have a great one!

Oops. Poops.

I'm so sorry

Here’s another adorable letterpress card that speaks to the heart of every dog owner that has had to housebreak a puppy.  Bailey used to duck her head out of guilt and shame, and crawl towards me if there was poop on the floor when I got home.  I’m glad those days are over!

April Showers

Burberry Trench

Image: Burberry

It looks like April is going to leave us with more days of rain, and there is nothing like a good trench coat to keep you dry (other than a pair of sturdy Hunter boots to splash through puddles).  My leather trimmed trench, similar to this Burberry one but with brown leather trim, is my favorite investment piece from last year because it has the right amount of detailing, is beautifully constructed, and is long enough to protect the full length of my body and still look feminine.

So imagine my delight when I came across this trench coat for dogs!  It’s the most human-like trench I’ve found, complete with a sleeve loop, belt, and a double-breasted front.

Pantone 18-2110

Pantone Tangerine Tango SwatchEvery year, Pantone releases a Color of the Year, but never has the winner been as celebrated or commercialized as this year’s color, Tangerine Tango (Pantone 18-2110).  This fiery orange/red concoction is on every fashion blog, magazine, window display…and the list goes on.  I even snatched up this beautiful Dior nail polish and these Kate Spade jeans (which are labeled “lacquer red,” but look more like coral).

Dior and Kate Spade

Perhaps I’ve gone a little overboard, but all I have to say to all this hype is, finally!  People are catching on to one of my favorite colors.

But how can we keep our dogs up to snuff with the trends?  Here are a few style-worthy ideas.

Canine Couture at Fashion for Paws

Fashion for Paws

Photo: Fido Journalism

It’s spring gala season, and there is none as buzz worthy, glamorous, and fun as Fashion for Paws held at the National Building Museum in Washington DC. This past Saturday marked the 6th Annual Fashion for Paws Runway Show featuring 10 one-of-a-kind human and dog couture pairings designed by the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, followed by a fashion show of models accompanied by dogs.  Fashion for Paws is a pretty big deal, as all the local celebs come out for the production.

Sadly, we couldn’t go. (It was at least $3K/table!  And besides, we had our own little party.)  But here are a few of my favorite dog/human pairings.

Birthdays All Around

Party Balloons

Image: Modern Party Ideas

The other day, I counted the number of March and April birthdays within my immediate family and realized that we have a whopping 6 birthdays coming up!  Mind you, I have a tiny family, so 6 accounts for 50% of us.

Mine was actually yesterday (yea!), and I turned 3-0.  I took the day off from work to take a break, reflect, and really enjoy the day to its fullest.  Here’s how I spent the day…

Fashion Ads

I’ve been seeing more fashion ads with dogs lately–those advertisers sure know how to get us.  I keep going back to these three.  The Jack Russell terrier in the BR ad is, as my professor used to say, too cute for school, but my favorite is the weimaraner in the Longchamp ad.  The Stella McCartney ad wins for best story: the black and white image in the background is of the family’s dalmatian, taken in 1976 by Linda McCartney.  What’s your favorite?
